Social media platforms are not shy about showering creators with rewards.
To be honest, in this day and age, the success of a platform is often down to how financially beneficial it is to creators. Platforms that aren’t financially beneficial often struggle to withstand the test of time (we’re looking at you Vine 👀).
TikTok pays big money to it’s creators. They do this through a platform called the TikTok Creator Rewards Program.
The TikTok Creator Rewards Program is designed to reward creators for their original and high-quality content.
Launched in 2023, it replaced the older Creator Fund and offers exciting opportunities for creators to monetise their content.
So, how do you get in on the action?
First, let’s check the eligibility requirements:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Account: In good standing with no policy violations
- Followers: At least 10,000 authentic followers
- Views: Minimum of 100,000 video views in the last 30 days (authentic views only)
- Location: Be based in a participating country (US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, or Brazil)
- Content: Focus on original content exceeding 1 minute in length
What makes a view “qualified” for the program?
- Users must watch for at least 5 seconds.
- Views must come organically (no promotion, paid views, or fraud).
- The video must be a regular post (not a duet, stitch, photo mode creation, or ad).
How much can you earn?
There’s no fixed amount, but creators typically report earnings between $4 and $8 per 1,000 qualified views. The actual payout depends on several factors:
- Originality: Unique and creative content stands out.
- Play Duration: The longer viewers watch, the better.
- Engagement: Comments, shares, likes – all fuel your rewards.
- Search & Ad Value: Content that users search for and advertisers find valuable gets a boost.
The rise of longer videos on TikTok since introduced in 2022Â is a key reason for theupdated program (users spend half their time watching them). Consider content that tells a story and aligns with trends in high-growth regions like China, Japan, and the UK.
